So it's all done. It looks right, so we just have to trim it up. We're gonna use a razor blade to cut off the excess veneer strips here and then we're gonna. Do the sides yeah all right, so I'm gonna start cutting off the extra veneer. I just have a nice flat surface to hold against the board just to make sure it's nice and straight all right.
A lot of the plan is to keep this wood yes and add the wood veneer strips on top. So I think this is a particle board underneath here, which is perfect because when you use wood, veneer strips you're, usually covering something: that's not solid wood. So then it looks like solid wood. It's must have been pretty expensive. This is made really well the bottoms not gonna look perfect, but no one's gonna see it so we're just gonna try to clean it up as best as we cannot too bad yeah, not too bad, there are holes.
It might need a good sanding, but the wood veneer strips should fit right over these yeah and they'll harden when we polyurethane them. So the hole should not be an issue yeah. I think we'll just sand it just to get rid of some of this glue and to make sure everything is pretty yep. So now that we have our tabletop ready, we are going to cover it with wood veneer strips wood veneer is actually real wood. It's a thin piece of wood and they actually come with an iron-on adhesive on the back yeah. So all you have to do is lay it on top we're gonna cut, it lay it on top and then iron it with a really hot iron, and it should stick. Okay, we're gonna start it from the center and work our way out.
