The power unit and your reclining theater chair. The first two most important step is that you unplug the chair from the wall. I can't stress how important that is the second step, I'm going to want to flip your chair back and unplug it from the main line beneath the chair. You'll see right here. It's zip tied to the base, and this part right here will unplug so you'll want to make sure that's unplugged. Your replacement kit will include a new power unit. Two zip ties a new set of screws. In addition, you're going to need the set of scissors and a screwdriver that will fit the screws in order to replace the power unit.
You'll need to remove the cap, which is just a simple twist. You'll then need to unscrew the four screws in the chair. Now I've already removed the screws in my chair and it might be kind of difficult, but please try not to use a power drill, as you could possibly strip the screws once the four screws are out, the unit will pull out rather easily you'll want to pull It out past the power unit. This is where you'll need your scissors now just know. You'll definitely want to have the chair unplugged at this point, or else you can get a shock.
We won't be doing any splicing of wires or anything. The cutting of the cable is simply so. We can pull the new power unit through so here we'll cut the unit and with our new power unit, we will take the end piece in the old cable and one of the zip ties that supply it in the replacement kit. Once the zip tie is firmly tied together with the new power unit, you're gonna want to tip your chair back now, underneath the chair, zip tied to the base you'll see another cable.
This is the old power unit now very carefully make sure not to actually cut this wire you'll want to cut the old, zip tie. This could be a little bit difficult once the zip tie holding the cable to the bottom of the chair has been cut. You should be able to take the cord and pull through to the point where you have your new cable. Now I tied some additional knots here, just to make sure it didn't come undone while we were pulling it through and that you have your new power unit pulled through the bottom of the chair.
You'll want to take the other, zip tie that was supplied with the replacement kit put that around the base unit. The original zip tie was tied to and secure the new power unit to the base of the chair. Now the new power unit is supplied and secured. You can plug it into the base plug that will go into the wall now. The final step will tip the chair back down. You're gonna want to feed the remaining cable into the side of the chair and, from here, you'll simply put the new four screws in remove your reapply, your cap and plug in and test
